Question #18113

When you ask about a Bible in plain English you are really admitting that you only accept what you already know?

  • Bobby Jim

No, we are showing our desire to learn more from God's Word through our familiar language.

  • ?

No, what some people want is to be able to understand what they are reading so it can touch their hearts so they will be move to do what God requires of them. Jeremiah 29:11, “For I well know the thoughts that I am thinking towards you, declares Jehovah, thoughts of peace, and not of calamity, to give you a future and a hope. And you will call me and come and prey to me,and I will listen to you.” www.jw.org click on “Bible Teachings”there you will get scriptural answers to question.

No one could learn a foreign language well enough to be capable of knowing the truth from God for quite a few years. However, they can get it in their own language as there are scholars out there working hard to make sure.

  • Arimatthewdavies

Friend you certainly speak the truth here!

  • ?

If you had asked the question in correct English syntax, what you're asking I'd already know.

  • Campbell Hayden

Yeah, I guess so ... unless your do not speak plain English, or any English at all.

  • Mama Kimama

No

  • ?

Not really. People today do not speak the same as they did in 1611, when the King James Bible was written. People simply need a modern version of the Holy Scriptures that are easy to read and understand. And that do NOT pollute, nor change the message of the Holy Scriptures. In the Scriptures God is called the Hearer of prayer - Psalm 65:2 - O Hearer of prayer, to you people of all sorts will come. - - - - The Scriptures also tell us of a preaching work going on all over the globe - Matthew 24:14 - And this good news of the Kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. - - - - This good news is obviously based on the truth from the Holy Scriptures as Jesus' words indicate - John 17:17 - Sanctify them by means of the truth; your word is truth. - - - - Thus, I encourage all to approach the Hearer of prayer and ask him to put you in touch with those preaching this good news of truth.

You've got the spelling correct, but your sentence makes no sense.
