Why does my dell laptop say "plugged in, not charging"?

maybe battery has died. they only last about 3 years. google for replacement ... far cheaper than name brand and just as good

Could be a faulty battery, or charger.

Charging may be disabled. Dell laptops often have a hot key on the keyboard to toggle it on and off.

If the laptop battery is fully charged it will say this.

Your battery is probably dead. If the laptop still runs ok on the charger, that means the charger, the charging port and internal power circuits are working fine. That only leaves a bad battery as the possible cause of that message.
